It’s still a few weeks away, plenty of time to add that extra bit of fitness as it’s a ‘ParkRun x 2’. That’s of course if you are going in for the ‘serious’ version of the Savernake Fun Run – 10k. But there is that slightly easier option of a 3k run, perfect if 10k is just that bit too far and you’ll be joined by many like yourself and also many of the younger runners.
It’s held to help and support St Katharine’s Primary School with all funds going towards the school. Every finishing runner will get a medal and special ‘T’ shirts will also be available to remind you of what you’ve achieved.
But you will need to register and that is now open at www.savernake10k.co.uk. It’s a family event and open to all.
Registration for the 10k run is £15, but only half that – £7.50 for the 3k distance.
Both races start from the picturesque hamlet of St Katharine’s, and with the kind permission of Mr Rokos and with the support of the Estate Manager and Security team from Tottenham House, the brand-new route gives runners exclusive access to incredible private grounds that are not generally open to the public, with stunning views of the Wiltshire countryside.
