Developers Green Square Accord have just issued an update of progress in the contentious development of Hawthorn Meadow – formerly known as Rabley Wood View.
Plenty of activity, lots of HGVs bring plant machinery and materials down through Rogers Meadow to the entrance to the development, plenty of dust blowing around in the dry weather, but a consistent hammering sound of piles being driven into the earth to provide the stable support for the buildings to be constructed.
This pile driving will continue for a few more days, aimed to be completed towards the end of next week – w/c 16 August.
One resident told Marlborough.news: “The worse thing so far is the pile driving which is extremely noisy and also causes vibrations through the house which moves small objects such as ornaments and also pictures hanging on the wall. The pile driving completed so far has been at the bottom of the field and also on the opposite side of the field from our house.
They will be pile driving to put the foundations in for houses directly outside our garden fence at some point and we are very concerned that this may cause structural damage to our house.”
