As Pewsey Vale School gets ready to welcome more students through its doors from Monday next week it will use a method called fogging to keep classrooms sanitized and safe.
Thermal Fogger machines are being produced by Swindon based company, Iconic Systems. They release a low volume disinfectant product to the atmosphere and the mass of droplets from the system penetrate all hard to reach areas killing surface contaminates.
Vanoquat is the bacterial fogging disinfectant used and it may be used to disinfect food contact surfaces. It has been tested by UKAS accredited microbiology laboratories and shown to be 99.99% effective against Covid-19 when used at the correct solution.
Thermal Fogging is quick. A 24,000 square foot factory can be decontaminated in just twenty minutes and a coach or bus in two minutes.
Neil Pritchard, headteacher, told marlborough.news, “The Thermo Fogger’ fogging machine is quick and efficient and I can ‘fog’ the biggest classroom in the school in under two minutes.”
Reuben Reynolds, Managing Director of Iconic Systems said, “We are dealing with an invisible enemy. The aim of daily fogging is to reduce to zero the number of viruses that have been introduced to a space during the hours of normal operation.”
In Marlborough, D&R Furnishers are displaying a poster on their door telling shoppers that ‘These premises have been fogged’ and are a space ‘safe from germs’. Reuben hopes that more and more businesses will qualify to display a ‘Safe Space’ sticker by committing to daily sanitisation or ‘fogging’.
Reuben commented, “Neil Pritchard the Headmaster is not only proactive in procuring the equipment, but is also attending the training, to obtain certification in how to carry out fogging with the equipment. I can only applaud his approach, and dedication to providing a Safe Space for learning, at the campus in Pewsey.”
