Coombe End Court care home in Marlborough, operated by the Orders of St John Care Trust, has opened a brand-new private dining room, and new lounge area.
Following a fire on site last April, the space has been redesigned and redecorated to provide comfortable and stylish areas for the residents, and their families, to enjoy.
Home Manager, Kelly Edwards, says: “It’s so good to see how well everything has turned out. We’re delighted to have completed the work and we’re looking forward to lots of fun times in the future. It was such a shock when it happened, but residents and my team have been brilliant – we’ve been looking ahead, not back. The residents are so excited now they can use the new areas, and having the flexibility it’ll offer us will make a big difference.”
The room was previously a lounge area, though it has been redesigned to make better use of the available space to incorporate both lounge and private dining sections.
The lounge is a very versatile area that will lend itself well to visiting entertainers and activities, as well as offering a homely space for day-to-day use. It is home to a feature fire surround, and a large flat-screen TV for residents that like to keep up to date with their favourite programmes.
The private dining room is tastefully decorated in neutral colours, offering a room with plenty of space of family celebrations such a birthday tea parties or dinners. It is triple aspect with lots of natural light.
Kelly says: “We’re really proud with how everything looks now and we can’t wait to show off our new home to our families, and prospective residents and their loved ones.”
Coombe End Court offers compassionate, individualised residential and dementia care, including respite stays, for up to 60 residents in two relaxing, friendly and comfortable households.
