Another new kit launch? Sure, but a real milestone for the club as girls cricket is becoming ever more popular, a growing number of teams and it’s fast becoming a key part of the cricket club. Girls cricket has achieved importance and is now a widely played part of the game, as is women’s football and rugby in those respective sports.

Sleeve sponsor Charlie’s Charity works to raise funds for young people in clubs and organisations in Wiltshire who would benefit from support to help them make the most of their sporting abilities and opportunities. Charlie tragically died aged 18 in a car accident in 2009. Sport was a major part of his life and the charity, set up in his memory is there to enable others to benefit in some way from the legacy that Charlie has left behind.
Marlborough Cricket Club now run a Womens team alongside the Mens teams, but also field Boys and Girls teams of all ages as well, with the Women and Girl members playing an ever more important role in the club. And the club is always there to welcome any player – man, woman, boy or girl – to join a very active and long established club, dating back to 1775…..
Plenty has happened in the 350 years of the club’s existence, but the recent development of the Womens and Girls teams is one of the major milestones.
