Marlborough & District LINK invited clients and guests to a splendid tea party on Saturday 1 July to celebrate and commemorate the late Vicky Sullivan. Vicky was Chair of Marlborough and District Link for many years

Held at Kennet Valley Hall, clients and guests enjoyed a sumptuous afternoon tea provided by Sue Brady Catering serenaded the while by the very talented Marlborough Community Choir.
Hugh de Saram, LINK Chair, said “I am delighted to welcome both clients and guests to this very special Tea Party in memory of Vicky. My sincere thanks go to all the Volunteers who so willingly give of their time to provide Marlborough’s LINK service”.
He used the event to introduce LINK’s Good Neighbourhood Scheme – an exciting new initiative starting in October in which St John’s and Marlborough College students visit LINK clients. Students will be offering company and conversation, help with gardening, IT support and other similar activities.
LINK is a team of volunteers who assist residents in Marlborough and the surrounding villages who have trouble getting out and about or need a little help at home. They drive people to medical appointments, day centres, opticians, dentists and the shops. Volunteers also offer neighbourhood support by picking up prescriptions, shopping and home visits to provide companionship.
If you would like to join an enthusiastic and dedicated team of volunteers, Marlborough LINK is always in need of more drivers and co-ordinators as well as people to provide neighbourhood support.
