Cricket, in this country is regarded as a summer game. Lords, in the January snow? Never. But now indoor cricket is here which makes winter cricket a possibility (and reality!) and as a ‘first’ for the club, the Marlborough Girls team lined up against Chippenham in the Wiltshire Indoor Girls League.
It was a really close-run thing, with Chippenham winning by 2 runs. Both teams embraced the spirit of the game, and it was an enjoyable fixture for everyone involved – players, parents and coaches alike. Congratulations to Chippenham on their win.
The girls equipped themselves brilliantly, applying everything they have learned over the summer in training and took everything in their stride.
It was lovely to see them supporting each other throughout with smiles on their faces, and they should be duly proud of themselves for a great performance.
With history being made for Marlborough, the team are now looking forward to their next fixture on 8th December versus Calne.
