“We’re back and ready to sing again!” Sara Holden of the Marlborough Choral Society told marlborough.news.
“We always welcome new members” she added, “If you love to sing and are looking for a local choir to join, think of us.”
The choir is a four part choir (soprano, alto, tenor and bass) with a classical repertoire – recent concerts have included works by Mozart, Haydn, Handel, John Rutter and Karl Jenkins. No audition is required to join the choir but it helps to have a little musical knowledge.
Marlborough Choral Society is a society with charitable status, which has been active for about 50 years. It is run by and for the members and fees are kept as low as possible (£60 per year, free membership for under 25s,music is provided).
With Covid provisions in place, the choir is going live from 13 September with rehearsals for the Christmas programme at Christchurch Methodist Church, London Road (Marlborough), between 7:30 and 9:00 pm.
