Love Marlborough Kids Meals, the local charity that supports struggling families with children in the Marlborough area by giving them a hot meal every week received the top level £1,500 from Tesco through their latest Blue Token round. That’s because you, the Marlborough Tesco customers put the Blue Token given at the till in the Love Marlborough Kids Meals box.
Love Marlborough Kids Meals feed about fifty families every week. And since the charity started six years ago they have supported more than two hundred and fifty families with proper nutritious hot meals, when they, and particularly the young children needed them most.
The Tesco Blue Token funding programme has been going now for about ten years, and in that time has delivered over £134m to over 80,000 local community projects across the country.
Each recipient local charity can receive £500, £1,000 or £1,500, depending on the number of tokens allocated by customers to each of the three boxes across the four months that each round lasts.
The programme is important for Tesco and how the retailer puts something back, particularly to schools and community groups that support children and young people having access to the fruit and veg that they need. They are encouraging local community groups/schools/charities to apply, or even reapply! Click here to find out more about how to apply.
