Many years ago – six to be precise – six hundred Marlborough residents signed a petition asking for a safer way to cross the road from the east of Marlborough and residential areas at The Thorns, The Acres, Rabley Wood View and Hawthorn Meadow to Marlborough Common. A very popular and well used point for many, but no ‘formal’ crossing as the image above shows. Lots of fast and varied traffic, it’s a dangerous location. But nothing has happened, it’s been batted to and fro between the LHFIG (Local Highway and Footway Improvement Group) for Marlborough and Wiltshire Council for these past six years. But nothing……. No progress.

The Town Council wants to hear from people who cross here and from people who don’t – but who might, if the current crossing point was improved and made safer.
Six years – far too long.
