While the road is closed no parking will be allowed on that part of the Salisbury Road.
The closure is for Wiltshire Council can carry out “kerbing, carriageway resurfacing / patching, road marking and adjustment of ironworks”.
Directions for an alternative rote will take motorists via A4 – A361 – A342 – A338 and vice versa.
Access will be maintained for residents and businesses, although delays are likely. Bad weather might delay the completion of these works – and the order allowing the road to be closed lasts for eighteen months.
Part of this work is being paid for by Beechcroft Developments Ltd who are building the Priory Court care and dementia home and 28 assisted living units at the old council depot site just south of Priorsfield.
