
The women and girls group of the Kennet Valley Table Tennis Club were given a masterclass by top England coach Emma Harradine over last weekend (10/11 January). The twenty five women in the group were put tjrough their paces and given lots of tips by Emma in a couple of ‘intensive training sessions’.
‘Intensive’ more refers to the quality of the advice and coaching rather than physical effort, but Table Tennis is a great sport for keeping fit, and all year round as well. And socialising, something not to be ignored. Emma offered participants a few tips and left them with one key takeaway at the end of two ninety minute sessions.
Table Tennis is a very accessible sport, open to all and an excellent way of keeping fit and healthy. Richard Ramsden of KVTTC encouraged women to join the club a couple of years ago and take-up has been keen, as seen at the weekend where the two sessions attracted twenty five women to the club.
