Kicking of Marlborough Music Month is Elcot Fest on Saturday 7 June, starting at 3,30pm. ‘Live Down The Lane’ at the home of Marlborough Town Football Club in Elcot Lane.
Saturday Elcot Festival started out – as what it is now – a community event. It’s for everyone, a great day out with live music from many bands, mainly very local but all from this area. In it’s first years it was much smaller, at the nearby Roebuck and called BuckFest.
But soon the Roebuck was outgrown. It became too popular for that relatively limited space so over to the other side of Elcot Lane it went and for a weekend every summer it took over the Marlborough Town FC ground. Bigger area, more bands, bit like MantonFest as it’s another great day out with plenty of excellent live music, and all to support the local community. BuckFest became ElcotFest
Lee Matthews is the inspiration behind Elcot Fest as he was for Buck Fest, as well as helping with the Sound Knowledge events and arranging bands for the Parade Fest. All in his spare time, running his hair salon is the day job.
| Line-Up | |
| 3:30-4:15 | Vivas |
| 4:45-5:30 | 41 Fords |
| 6:00-6:45 | Nothing Rhymes With Orange |
| 7:15-8:00 | Vooz |
| 8:30-9:15 | Humdinger |
| 9:45-11:00 | Rogues |

Lee is keen to thank all the volunteers that make ElcotFest happen and be the great day that it is. Especially Heidi Brinkworth and Kim Francis and all the fantastic volunteers from Marlborough Town who get involved, from the football teams through to people that just drink there and volunteer for free.
This is ElcotFest, a real community and volunteer-driven festival which all helps to keep Marlborough Town Football Club alive and running. Great day out, and a great start to Marlborough Music Month.
