Last week was Science Week for Pupils at Preshute Primary School. Pupils enjoyed a week of science experimentation which revealed the science behind many everyday tasks and objects.

The science week was organised by Science lead Charlotte Coulson who said it was great to see the children engage in Science in such a fun way. There were plenty of hands-on experiences conducting different experiments which included making lava lamps, Oobleck and taking part in egg drops.
Louis in Year 6 commented, “I found the race logic and physics workshop very inspirational.” For Matty, also Year 6, “it was a very new and exciting way of learning science.” The children also enjoyed working in house groups. “Working in our house groups, gave us a chance to work together as a team,” commented Orson Year 6.

Claire Hann-Perkins, Headteacher, told Marlborough.news, “Last week children at Preshute Primary School participated in Science Week. Parents volunteered to run workshops on how Science is used in their jobs. This included talks on vehicle autonomy and fully-automated cars, Physics and Science in farming.
We would like to thank the parents who spoke to the children and to Marlborough College for inspiring us with some fantastic Physics.
Additionally, an assembly was run by Sian from Mad Science – which showed the children how fun science can be.
The children were very knowledgeable after their experiences and I am sure it is something they will remember for a long time.”
