Other Marlborough traders have followed his lead, including The Polly Tearooms in deciding that until the Coronavirus scare passes they won’t accept cash for any transactions.
Bob added “We’ll probably not completely stop it in its tracks here in Marlborough by doing this, but we should be trying to do something and we should be doing it together”.
Anne Clarke owner of The Polly Tearooms added: “We think it makes very good sense…. We are doing everything possible to safeguard the health of our customers and staff and it very much business as usual. People are still keeping calm and drinking tea.”
