In St Peter’s Church earlier today (Friday 24 January) Jeremy Lune, CEO of Prospect Hospice and Gareth Reynolds , Treasurer of The Jubilee Centre each received a cheque for over £547, the net proceeds from the very successful Christmas Cabaret staged at St Peter’s on 6th December last year by Manton Productions, the sister organisation to MantonFest that creates fund-raising events for our local charitable institutions.
Organised by the Manton Productions team of Roger Grant (MantonFest Impressario), Nicky Evans of Manton and Judith Sharp of Manton and Salos – Swindon Amateur Light Operatic Society – it was very well received, and attracted a large capacity audience, which delivered an excellent return for Prospect and the Jubilee Centre.
“We kept ticket prices low, at £10 per head and this contributed to attracting the large sell-out audience who turned up to St Peter’s on a cold, wet December night, and they all had a great time” Roger told Marlborough.news.
“It went down so well that we are now looking at the next concert, maybe May or June, again in St Peter’s” added Roger.
