Following the success of ‘The Wiltshire Gothic‘ (launched last April) and their debut album ‘Beyond Reverence’ in 2023, ‘Chapter & Verse’, a five track EP will be out on Friday 13 September on Ray Records.
“Chapter & Verse” sees Deadlight Dance return to writing original songs, and also sees a return to the full band sound that the duo Nick Fletcher and Tim Emery make.
The format of “Chapter and Verse” is a nod to the 1980s classic EPs that the band grew up with. A theme of literary characters runs throughout the EP. From Ray Bradbury’s “Fahrenheit 451” through to some of Orwell’s finest work and Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, the band picked work that captured their imagination in their formative years.
Recorded locally in Chiseldon at Nick Beere’s Mooncalf Studio and mixed, engineered and produced by Nick which gives the final disc an superb quality sound and feel, the lead track ‘Montag‘ can be heard and seen on a YouTube video produced by Haunting The Atom – click here.
