Saturday January 25 was handover day of 3 cheques each for £1,250 from the Avebury Club to the Wiltshire Air Ambulance, Kennet Community Transport, and Avebury Cricket Club.
The money came from an Auction of Promises held at the club in the weeks before Christmas, the promises being from a host of local businesses and individuals.
Alan Blake, Secretary of the Avebury club, said: “This is an annual event for us. We are pleased to be able to help such deserving local charities.”
Roly Lockey, who drives the Kennet Community Transport minibus which 5 days a week brings people of restricted mobility in to the New Road Centre and the Jubilee Centres in Marlborough, and who secured many of the promises, said: “This is great news for us. The bus is really valuable in allowing people who might otherwise be housebound to get into town.”
