The Flag Flying schedule for St Peter’s Church has just been released by Tower Constable, Jeremy York who makes sure that every day, the correct (and frequently different) flag is flying from the Church Tower.

Jeremy York, as well as taking care of the St Peter’s Church Tower – one of Marlborough’s iconic landmarks, he was honoured to be one of this year’s 95 male recipients of Maundy Money from The Queen on the Thursday before Easter.
The idea is for every day – or most days to be different and each to celebrate something particular or notable happening on that day. Pictured here (left) is the Canadian flag flying in honour of Canada Day on the day that the Clock Face was being removed for restoration.
Recent new flags include the Wiltshire County Flag – a green and white design featuring the Great Bustard, an extremely large flying bird traditionally a resident of Salisbury Plain, disappeared for a few years but successfully reintroduced recently. Long regarded as a symbol of Wiltshire.
