Wiltshire police were told by members of the public on Tuesday (May 26) about a suspicious white van seen in the Burbage and Marlborough area. There were also reports that the vehicle was involved in an attempted theft on Bank Holiday Monday (May 25).
There have been several sightings of the vehicle and police have been following them up. On Wednesday afternoon the vehicle was sighted again, stopped by officers and three people have been arrested on suspicion of theft. They are assisting the police with enquiries.
Wiltshire Police are asking people to assist them with investigations about these people and contact them directly with information.
There are discussions taking place on various social media sites. Police have had a limited number of people contact them directly, and are keen to hear from anyone who has been a victim or has witnessed anything connected with this van and the three arrested people.
To make sure they can build a strong case, all evidence, such as photos and information should be reported to the police directly using the non-emergency 101 ‘phone number or 999 if a crime is in progress. Images can be sent to them via email.
