The Allied Healthcare Group’s operations providing personal care to 167 people in their homes in the Swindon and Lechlade areas has been given an overall rating as ‘inadequate’ and placed in ‘special measures’ by the CQC.
Following an inspection April, the service, which is based in Royal Wootton Bassett, was found to be ‘inadequate’ on three of the five areas on which the CQC judges care at home work: safety, responsiveness and leadership. The service also ‘requires improvement’ in terms of its effectiveness and caring.
The report says: “Half of the people we spoke with told us they had experienced missed visits.” It also found evidence that visits were scheduled too close together – leaving clients with less attention than they needed.
At the time of the inspection the service had had no ‘registered manager’ since December last year.
