Work on converting the former Chapel into The Parade Cinema is now scheduled to start at the beginning of August.
This work is covered by the existing planning approval. But a new planning application as been lodged with Wiltshire Council following the purchase of No. 2 The Manse – which shares a wall with the Chapel – to become part of the cinema and arts centre.
This means there is now no need to build a two storey extension to the north of the Chapel and so there will be less alteration to the listed structure.
The Manse will be used to provide a café and bar for the cinema – as well as a kitchen, toilets and an office.
The new planning application papers are at 19/04068/FUL
The consultation period for this new application runs to 13 June and a decision is due on 19 June. It is still expected The Parade Cinema will be showing films by Christmas.
