At the St Francis School’s recent Jubilee celebrations, Year 5 pupil Bella manned a cake stall (ably assisted by her parents) to raise money for the Helen Arkell Dyslexia Charity. Bella raised over £200 for the charity which offers dyslexia support for anyone who needs it.
One in-depth assessment at Helen Arkell costs £355, which means that Bella raised nearly enough for one person to have their learning (and the understanding of their loved ones) totally transformed.
David Lee, Headmaster at St Francis School added, “Bella has shown incredible initiative and compassion for others with her bake sale fundraising. Realising she would have a captive audience, she sought to help others by raising money to help those with dyslexia (and their loved ones) understand the condition further. Well done Bella – We’re very proud of you!”
