Flashing and reflective arm bands are being given out for free this week to year 5/6 pupils in Wiltshire primary schools, to increase children’s visibility, especially during the dark days of winter.
The initiative is part of work by Wiltshire Council, Wiltshire Police, Wiltshire Fire & Rescue and NHS Wiltshire to make roads in the county safer.
“It is vital we do everything we can to ensure our children are safe when they travel to school,” corporate director Maggie Rae told Marlborough News Online. “This initiative demonstrates our collaborative working and the commitment of all those involved to improve the safety of our children.”
