Angus Macpherson, Wiltshire’s new Police and Crime Commissioner, is to attend area board meetings in the county to inform them of his plans for future police policy.
“We are attending these community meetings across Wiltshire and Swindon to talk to people about my forthcoming Police and Crime Plan, particularly explaining what sort of information will be in the document and how they can give their feedback on it in due course,” he said.
Mr Macpherson or a representative of his office propose to be at all the Area Board meetings this month and in February and to be available to speak informally to residents and councillors.
The Police and Crime Plan will set the strategic direction of policing in Wiltshire and Swindon for the next five years. As well as working with the police, it will include working with partners, such as local authorities and voluntary community sector organisations.
From about mid February members of the public will be able to give their feedback on a draft version of the plan via the PCC’s website – www.wiltshire-pcc.gov.uk.
