More than 11,000 people have responded to Wiltshire Council’s consultation on changes to the kerbside collection of garden waste – a response that has led to the consultation period being extended to October 1.
Currently the council runs a fortnightly non-chargeable kerbside garden waste collection service to those residents who request it.
The proposed changes are:
- A three month suspension of the non-chargeable kerbside garden waste service with no collections taking place in December, January and February.
- A five month suspension of the non-chargeable kerbside garden wasteservice with no collections taking place from November to March.
- To introduce a chargeable kerbside garden waste collection service instead of the current non-chargeable service
Wiltshire residents are asked to choose one option which best meets their needs. There is more information on the Council’s website (with the consultation documents) or in leaflets at libraries, leisure centres and council offices or by phoning 0300 456 0102..
No decisions have been made yet and the council’s cabinet will discuss the consultation response in November.
