Another notice from the shop manager says: “To my customers and friends, It is with great sadness that I am writing this note to you all to express my sincere thanks for your support and custom throughout my seven years with East.”
“I have laughed, cried and shared our lives and feel that many of you have become friends and we have endured life’s journey together. Hopefully our paths will cross again. With love, Vicky.”
Last summer the East chain went into administration and nineteen branches were closed with the loss of 155 jobs. But the subsequent sale of the stores by the administrators was said to have saved more than 550 jobs and 82 shops and concessions.
