The Marlborough Area Board awarded funding to three local community groups at its special grants meeting this week (July 22.)
The Avebury Day committee were awarded £750 towards to costs of putting on a village fete that will be for both residents of the parish as well as for the many visitors to the village and the henge.
Also in Avebury, the Cricket Club received £1,000 towards the refurbishment of their training nets. The club has started training young players and the nets make an ideal facility for beginners.
Finally, as part of a large project to upgrade and refurbish the play equipment in Mildenhall, MinalPlay were awarded £4,000 towards new play equipment aimed at older children and outdoor fitness equipment for adults who’d like to take a bit more exercise.
