Two High Street shops have closed. The Marlborough branch of Parsons Bakery at 139 The High Street has gone.
Parsons is a family-run bakery chain supplying cakes, breads, pastries and handmade sandwiches. They have 40 shops in the south-west – from Usk to Keynsham, from Worcester to Cheddar.
Those empty premises are being prepared for Luna Boutique – moving into the High Street from nearby Kingsbury Street.
The other closure is Charlotte Quest – also on the north side of the High Street, but at its western end. A notice on the door of the shop at No. 97, High Street announces: “Due to a combination of ill health and disruption to trade over recent months, we have decided to close our beloved shop.”
The Charlotte Quest website described the shop as being “…full of an eclectic mix of products that we spend many hours researching and sourcing from many different and creative suppliers.”
