Members of Marlborough’s churches will be looking to the skies again this Easter. In what is now a well-established tradition, kites will be flown on the College Playing Fields at 4.00pm on Easter Sunday.
“This is a popular custom in a number of countries, especially in the Caribbean,” said Marlborough’s Rector, the Rev Andrew Studdert-Kennedy. “Over there kite flying is seen as symbolic of the freedom, spontaneity and joy of the Resurrection.”
