The second referendum group ‘Devizes for EU’ will be taking part in the National Day of Action for a People’s Vote on Saturday, 12 January in both Marlborough and Devizes.
Their aim is to draw attention to the ongoing parliamentary logjam as the days to the 29 March Brexit deadline run down, and show the Devizes MP and Cabinet Member for Minister of State for Energy and Clean Growth, Rt Hon Claire Perry, that there is a clear groundswell of opinion within her constituency that a second ‘People’s Vote’ should take place.
Devizes for EU volunteers will be distributing copies of their open letter to Mrs Perry in both towns on Saturday morning and encouraging people to write voicing their support for the People’s Vote before the ‘meaningful vote’ occurs, currently scheduled for Tuesday next week (14 January).
