If your apple trees are still bowed down with a glorious crop of apples why not pick the fruit and take it over to Avebury?
At the Avebury Community Orchard’s Apple Day on Saturday (September 26 – 10.30am to 2.30pm), they will have a member of the Second World War Women’s Land Army on hand to help you turn your apples into juice. [ED: Surely you mean a replica member of the WLA?]
Apple Day will have traditional and not so traditional apple fun for children. There is an apple cake competition – judged at 11.00am. And there will be refreshments – including apple cake and apple juice.
Just bring your apples and some containers to take the juiced home in.
The Avebury Community Orchard is by the pavilion on the Avebury Sportsfield – between the National Trust car park and the village.
