Roger Hill who has been a non-exec director of GWH since 2008, is to be the hospital trust’s new chairman. At the end of January he will succeed Bruce Laurie who has been chairman for five years.
Roger Hill has had a long and successful career in industry – notably in IT – and has served for ten years as a governor of Newbury College.
GWH’s Chief Executive, Nerissa Vaughan, paid tribute to Bruce Laurie’s work for the hospital: “He helped lead us successfully to Foundation Trust status in 2008 and with the merger with Wiltshire Community Health services in 2011, completely transforming the Trust in the process.”
The Board also announced that Jemima Milton will become one of GWH’s non-exec directors. She is Wiltshire Councillor for West Selkley which covers the Marlborough Area villages west of the town. In May she was elected Chairman of the Marlborough Area Board.
At Wiltshire Council Mrs Milton has been closely involved in its adult care services. The appointments were made after a series of interviews with candidates.
