Sirs,
I read the account of the Town Council this week when the issue of works to streets and footpaths was discussed.
Whilst these temporary works are a bit disruptive there is another aspect this. I have heard so many people complain about about broadband coverage, mobile signals, leaking water pipes and low water pressure and demanding that that something be done.
Well something is being done to rectify some of these issues and it inevitably means digging up sections of roads etc.
The improvement in all these utilities and investment in our infrastructure which we rely on is surely something to be welcomed and supported. Surely we should see this temporary disruption in perspective.
If we wait for numerous agencies to agree a programme of work so everything is improved simultaneously we will be waiting a very long time.
Yours,
Ian Mellor
