My letter sought to clarify the current work being undertaken by diggers and the planning position in the land around Manton Hollow, College Fields and Barton Park.
Mr Morgan then responded with a letter which added confusion.
The only land proposed for development in this general area is land along Barton Dene beyond the already allocated land just behind the leisure centre. The additional land was proposed for 30 houses and some employment .
Mr Morgan calls the land behind College Field’s and Barton Park site4. This area was suggested by the College many years ago along with hundreds of other sites put forward by land owners all over Wiltshire for consideration by the Planning authority in the initial stages of preparing the Local Plan in the stage called ‘Call for Sites’ which is essential for planning authorities to establish which sites may be available. This site was given the number 4. Following environmental analysis this area was deleted as were numerous other sites originally suggested as being available by the owners.
It was not included in the consultation version of the draft Local Plan or the final version submitted to the Secretary of State.
