I do agree with the Town Council views on Marlborough Market. The dead hand of Wiltshire Council sits on top of it.
We at Grove Farm Butchery in Minal attempted to have a regular stall but were met with a bit of negativity about what we could sell. We sell artisan sausages for £12.50 per kg but we were not allowed to sell them because an existing meat and cheese stall (nothing against them they do a great job) had sausages at £4.50 per kg. Same with bacon and cooked meats.
Not asked but I bet the same would happen if we tried to sell other farmers cheese. We have challenged this but not got anywhere.
