This steampunk Dalek – a Victorian take on the Doctor Who monster – will be joined by steampunk droid, inspired by the galaxy far, far away of the Star Wars canon.
For the uninitiated, steampunk is a subculture of sci-fi, inspired by the works of H.G. Wells and Jules Verne. It imagines a world – this one or another – in which steam has remained the primary source of power, despite all technological advances.
The steampunk Dalek and steampunk droid are being brought to St John’s by Mark Enright of Wiltshire-based podpadstudios, which builds models and props for Theatre, Film and TV.
“They are the only working steampunk builds like this in the UK and rarely venture out to events together, so this is an exclusive for St John’s,” said Mark.
The science fair takes place on Saturday, March 21. For our full preview, click here.
