The 30th Marlborough International Jazz Festival was declared open by Wiltshire’s Lord Lieutenant, Mrs Sarah Troughton yesterday evening (15 July) at the Castle & Ball.
The grey leaden skies and threat of drizzle didn’t take any of the sparkle or excitement away and the assembled throng were entertained by the St John’s Jazz Band and Ma Polaine, all energetically steered by organiser Nick Fogg.
Below are a selection of pics of some of the acts playing on Friday evening. Excellent performances all round, a taster for the packed schedule taking place across the town this afternoon, evening and topped by Claire Teale in the Priory Marquee on Sunday.
