Sound Knowledge present – Billie Marten at St Peter’s

We’re over the moon to announce that the brilliant Billie Marten will be returning to us for a fifth time on Wednesday 16th July to celebrate the release of her forthcoming new album ‘Dog Eared’. She’ll be playing a solo set in the atmospheric surroundings of St. Peter’s Church from 7.30pm. 

Her first appearance here as a teenager nearly a decade ago heralded the arrival of a major songwriting talent and each subsequent record has seen Billie refining her craft and growing in musical boldness. Her new album ‘Dog Eared’ was recorded in New York with producer Phil Weinrobe (Adrianne Lenker, Buck Meek, Laura Veirs) and a globe-spanning band of crack musicians including Catalan singer-songwriter/guitarist Núuria Graham, revered indie-rock artist Sam Evian, Brazilian percussionist Mauro Refosco, acclaimed folk musician Sam Amidon and his frequent collaborator, multi-instrumentalist Shahzad Ismaily. Currently supporting Tennis in the US on their farewell tour before embarking on a mammoth headline UK, EU and North American tour of her own, this is a brilliant opportunity to catch an artist very much on the rise.
