James Sheppard – Local Conservatives

I have spent the vast majority of my life in the Aldbourne and Ramsbury area, with deep family roots in the community dating back to the 17th century. Born in Aldbourne, I was educated at St Michael’s in Aldbourne and later at St John’s in Marlborough. My family farmed in Aldbourne before relocating to a farm just outside of Marlborough.
I’ve been privileged to represent Wiltshire’s farming community in various capacities, including as Chairman of the Wiltshire National Farmers’ Union and later as the county’s representative on the NFU National Council.
Music has also played a significant role in my life. I have been a long-standing member of the acclaimed Aldbourne Brass Band, where I had the honour of serving as Chairman. Following my recent retirement as a player, I was deeply honoured to be appointed President of the band.
Why vote for me:
My decision to become involved in local politics was motivated by firsthand experience with the planning system. Rather than simply expressing frustration, I felt compelled to work toward change from within. Since being elected in 2008, it has been a great honour to serve as the Wiltshire Councillor for Aldbourne and Ramsbury. During my time on the council, I was also privileged to serve as Chairman of Wiltshire Council.
I have always strived to represent and support as many of my constituents as possible, and I would be honoured to continue doing so. I am standing for re-election and would welcome the opportunity to serve the Aldbourne and Ramsbury area once again for the next four years.
