On Thursday 10 November Danny Kruger will attend a meeting discussing ‘Climate Change’, organised by the Marlborough Quaker Group (led by Rachel Rosedale and supported by Nick Maurice).

The Group asked Danny to focus particularly on certain aspects of Climate Change, with particular reference to what this Government’s strategies are for dealing with this very pressing and becoming ever more immediate issue. The questions sent to Danny are:
1. Are renewables part of the Government’s growth and energy policy?
2. Is the Government concerned about the impact of militarisation on climate change, particularly in the context of the war in Ukraine?
3. Will grants for the installation of solar panels and home insulation be available and if so when?
4. What is the Government’s policy on the installation of solar panels in fields versus growing food crops?
5. Is fracking still going ahead
6. Is the Government taking into consideration the impact that climate change is having on 3rd world countries and supporting those countries that are particularly affected?
By way of bringing home to members of the audience the severity of the impact of climate change on the people of Africa in particular, the Group has invited Masireh Touray, the Chair of the Kombo Sillah Association (the Gambian UK diaspora organisation) to speak briefly on this topic. She comes from Gunjur, the community with which Marlborough has been linked for the past 37 years.
The meeting commences at 7:30pm and the audience are welcome from 7pm onwards. The audience will have the opportunity to put questions to Danny Kruger on this vital subject.
