Treasurer needed for local Tourism Partnership (volunteer)
After eight years of dedicated and loyal service, the current Honorary Treasurer of the Pewsey Vale Tourism Partnership is standing down. He would like to hand over to his successor. Could that be you?
We are a not-for-profit community and business-focussed group dedicated to improving and supporting tourism and the visitor economy across the Vale of Pewsey. Organisational overheads are paid via an annual membership fee (£55) of around 80 members. Other costs are met via funded projects supported by local funders and partner organisations such as the Pewsey Area Board, Tesco, the Cooperative, the North Wessex Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, VisitWiltshire, The Great West Way and GWR. We also work closely with Wiltshire Council and the 28 local Parish Councils in the Pewsey Community Area.
This role involves invoicing current and new members, overseeing project funds and preparing year end accounts. The time is not onerous, being around 1 to 2 days a month on average. We would also hope that this person would work to grow the membership by supporting the current (volunteer) coordinator in her work. Reasonable expenses and costs will be covered as funds allow.
This is a real opportunity for someone with financial experience to make a huge difference locally. There are also opportunities to develop the role if interested.
Projects include renovating telephone boxes into information kiosks; creating a collection of 20 walking and cycling leaflets and routes; helping with the installation of historic information boards at sites of interest with QR codes linking back to the website; daily and weekly itineraries for walkers and cyclists; Walkers Are Welcome accreditation for the whole of the Pewsey Community Area and a new long-distance walking route – The Pewsey Vale Circular Way.
