Marlborough Captain Arran Dickinson says that this week’s game is no easy affair and that his side must guard against over confidence and complacency following last Saturday’s very good win over title challengers Westbury.
“We know Marshfield are a far better side than their current league position suggests and they have a very good batting unit with James Williams, Callum Burnstone, Will Pascall and Jeremy Bond at the heart of it and all of them in the league’s top 20 run scorers this season. They are not a bad bowling side either with Pascall leading the way with 23 wickets so we know we have a game on our hands this week.”
Marlborough make two changes for this weekend’s game with Will Langton and Will Thomas both making way for Mike Bush and Frazer Gordon. Bush will come into the side to further strengthen the batting unit and will also provide Dickinson with another spin bowling option. Wiltshire County under 17 Gordon adds further depth to the Marlborough bowling unit and is someone that Dickinson has great hopes of for the future.
“Frazer is a very good young cricketer with a great attitude and a lot of potential and is the sort of player this club intends to build its future around. We have two County under 17’s in the current side with Frazer and Dave West and the same can be said of Dave. The pair show what a bright future this club has and gives us a very good foundation to build on.”
