After the success of their first game in the Premier 2 Division last weekend, Marlborough Ladies were ready for another positive week. They started well applying good pressure to the Hereford defence and took an early lead with a goal by Helen Way from a well drilled short corner.
A quick transition however left Marlborough open to an overloaded Hereford attack which after a good save from keeper Vicky Moxham, found a lucky bounce making it 1-1.
Hereford came back hard and fought again to take the lead. Marlborough once more built some great attacking play and this time it was Lottie Colquhoun who managed to even the score with a goal slid in from the slightest of angles.
Undeterred Hereford once more found the back of Marlborough’s net putting the pressure on the home team again and again.
After some end-to-end play, a good pass found Crosby-Jones in the attacking D and having beaten the keeper, she made sure of Marlborough’s third goal. Unfortunately time was on Hereford’s side and they were able to sneak in a final and winning goal before the final whistle.
This was, however, a fantastic effort from a newly reformed Marlborough Ladies first team.
The T H White player of the match was Alex Crosby-Jones.
