Geordie (Jon) has coached the Marlborough Magpies (MYFC’s current U17/18 team) for eleven of the twelve seasons the team has been in existence but now the baton has been passed to Keith Marshall and Jon Evans.

Over his time at MYFC Geordie has coached around fifty players as The Magpies progressed through the various age groups including family – his son Billy, who along with another team member, Charlie Wakeham has been there all the way through.
Two other players, Callum McDonald and Sam Mundy remained loyal throughout playing eleven seasons, although both missed out on this last season.
Geordie remarked ”I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with MYFC, and I would happily do it all again in a shot! It’s the most satisfying thing I have ever done, yet at the same time the most frustrating. My philosophy has always been to make sure the lads play with a smile on their faces and to make sure everyone gets a game regardless of ability – an ethos that runs through the entire club.”
Geordie paid tribute to all involved with the club, and how it has grown over the years into a thriving, exciting club for both boys and girls football, and mentioned how proud he is to have been part of that success.
