Marlborough star all rounder Ben Head once again showed why he’s one of the most revered players in Wiltshire Cricket with a match winning performance, as Marlborough completed a straight forward 92 run victory over Winsley at home in the game kindly sponsored by Chris’s barbershop of Marlborough High Street.
Put into bat by the hosts Marlborough posted 177-9 off their 50 overs thanks to a brilliant knock of 72 from Head with useful lower order contributions from George Penfold 22 and George Fox 18 not out with Simon Orchard 4-28 and youngster Tom Walker 3-33 the pick of the bowlers for Winsley.
In reply Winsley crumbled to 85 all out as Head took 5 wickets with the ball with Fox and spin sensation Fraser Gordon also taking 3 and 2 wickets apiece.
Marlborough skipper Tom Norris said “The game was all about Ben Head and hopefully we can go on a run but we need to take each game as it comes”
