Not ‘a walk in the park’, certainly not but a challenge for all of us walkers and runners to tackle Wiltshire’s ‘3 peaks’ – ‘Giant’s Grave’, Martinsell and Huish Hill – in your own time, to your own length (three options) and in your own way – either running, walking or doing it in whatever way is best. And raise funds for the vulnerable young who are supported by Youth Adventure Trust (YAT).
Starting from Oare on Saturday 13 June you will have the challenge of either a 10k run / stroll / walk, a half Marathon or a full Marathon route which take on this area’s most iconic hills. Now in its fourth year YAT’s ‘3 Peaks Challenge’ has already become a popular ‘must do’ in the calendar of many but as well as giving that personal test it has the benefit of helping those in real need. Described by those who’ve taken part before as “a wonderful challenge, wonderful people and for a wonderful cause”, and by others as “great organisation and lovely atmosphere” that allowed them to focus entirely on the challenge at hand.

Funds raised will go directly towards supporting the young people on the Youth Adventure Trust programmes. Funds will be from you, the participants and what you can raise, but also from event sponsors locally based Beard Construction.
Who are Youth Adventure Trust and what do they do? They are a ‘youth development’ charity working with vulnerable young people aged 11 to 16 years old from Wiltshire, Swindon and Somerset.
They use outdoor adventure and one-to-one support to empower young people to fulfil their potential and lead positive lives in the future, building resilience, developing confidence and introducing skills that will last a lifetime, helping them to face the challenges in their lives.
