With the General Election looming, a former Number 10 spin doctor is giving a talk near Marlborough on Thursday next week (27 June) about what goes on behind that famous black door.
East Kennett resident Vickie Sheriff is a former spokesperson for two prime ministers – from two different parties.
She fielded questions from the infamous lobby journalists for three and a half years on behalf of Gordon Brown and David Cameron.
She was instrumental in the setting up of the press conference with David Cameron and Nick Clegg as they announced the coalition government in 2010.
“It was an immense privilege to work as a non party political civil servant at Number 10,” says Vickie.
“There are some fascinating insights into how a country is governed when your day job is to communicate the government’s line on things.
“I’m delighted to share some – not all – of the things that happen if it helps raise cash for the church in East Kennett.”
The talk starts at 7pm (on Thursday 27 June) – and there will be a question and answer session afterwards.
The venue is the Christ Church in East Kennett. Free entry – but cash donations to the church please.
And bring your own drinks/glasses etc.
