Locally based charity UKtoUkraine want to thank everyone who answered the urgent call for fridges and freezers for Ukraine. These will be sent in a convoy of three articulated lorries from Christchurch on Monday (21 August). UKtoUkraine will welcome anyone that wishes to wave the convoy off, they leave between 12:30 and 1pm from Covers Builders Merchants at 4 Quarry Lane, Chichester PO19 8PE.
Founded by local residents Caragh Booth and Pip Holmes, UKtoUkraine is making this possible. They have already sent much humanitarian aid to Eastern Ukraine to help local charity StaySafeUA with front line evacuations and feeding 150 people a day in the Bakhmut shelter. UKtoUkraine also had a boat on the dam within 12 hours of the explosion saving lives in 16 villages that were cut off due to the water levels.
Next to go are three articulated lorries, kindly donated by Covers Timber and Builder Merchants, on 14th August.
UKtoUkraine need your help with filling the trucks, as Caragh says, “we have 160 homes in Kherson who have need small/large fridges and freezers, if anyone can help but stresses that every item must be in full working condition.
We also need a bobcat skid steer for clearing in Kherson, that is a big ask but you never know who might just have one or a mini digger!”
Please get in touch asap if you can help in any way or wish to do a fund raiser for us, please do consider making a donation (click here to reach the go fund me page).
