Today, 11 October, Cllr Barrett-Morton is presenting a cheque for £300 to Manton Pre-School to Supervisor Trish Salisbury and Committee Member and parent Amy Nelson.
It’s a busy week for Mayor Noel Barrett-Morton as he delivers the grant cheques to deserving organisations in the town, courtesy of the Town Council Small Grant Scheme.
“This will help enormously” said Trish. “It will go towards buying toys, a chalkboard for outside, cars, and aprons” she added. “We encourage the children to bake and the flour gets everywhere, so the aprons are essential”. Maybe, the Mayor and the Town Council are sowing the seeds for a future Champion Baker in the Great British Bake-Off?
Manton Pre-School operates from the Manton Village Hall. Probably one of the longest-serving Pre-Schools, now in it’s forty-forth year having started in 1973.
It takes twenty children up to four days a week, open Monday to Thursday with two ‘long’ and two ‘short’ days each week.
